More Prayer for my Wife

Father,

I pray right now for my wife.  I know she is going through something that I simply do not understand, but I believe in full You do.

I ask that you be with her for this upcoming week and the events that are about to unfold.  Please be with her through each and every step of the way no matter what it is.

I ask for your protection of her from all the hurt, harm and danger from the enemy and the world, and I include even things that she may cause upon herself.

I ask for forgiveness in any part I play in her recent actions both from You, and from her.  I confess that I do not always uphold my end of things and I take this time right now to renew my own vows to You and to her.

You are the one who is in control over all of this, and You know fully what is going on.  I choose right now to trust You even when I do not understand.  Please help me to be the husband you want me to be for her, and the one she desperately needs the most.  Transform me to be the one you would have for her so that she is drawn not to me, but to You alone.

Lord, please do not allow her to go beyond your boundaries.  Please help her to see the warning signs that are coming before she reaches the edge.  Help her to turn from anything that may lead to her being harmed more than need be.

I beg of you please, My God, please rescue her from herself and bring her to Yourself.  You love her more than I do.

I ask all these things in Jesus’ name, Amen

Psalm 139 (Amplified Bible)

Psalm 139 (Amplified Bible)

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

1O LORD, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.

2You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off.

3You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways.

4For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

5You have beset me and shut me in–behind and before, and You have laid Your hand upon me.

6Your [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high above me, I cannot reach it.

7Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence?

8If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there.

9If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

10Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.

11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the night shall be [the only] light about me,

12Even the darkness hides nothing from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.

13For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.

15My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].

16Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.

17How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

18If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awoke, [could I count to the end] I would still be with You.

19If You would [only] slay the wicked, O God, and the men of blood depart from me–

20Who speak against You wickedly, Your enemies who take Your name in vain!

21Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And am I not grieved and do I not loathe those who rise up against You?

22I hate them with perfect hatred; they have become my enemies.

23Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!

24And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Protection Prayer

Lord, I pray that You would surround K with Your hand of protection.  Kepp her safe from any accidents, diseases, or evil influences.  Protect her in cars, planes, or wherever she is.  Keep her out of harm’s way.

Lord You have said in Your Word that though “the wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him…[the] Lord will not leave him in his hand” (Psalm 37:32,33).  Protect my wife from the plans of evil people. I pray that when she passes through deep waters, You will be with her, and when she passes through the rivers, they will not overflow her.  When she walks through the fire, she shall not be burned nor shall the flame scorch her (Isaiah 43:2).  I pray that K will make her refuge “in the shadow of Your wings” until “these calamities have passed by” (Psalm 57:1).

Lord, I pray that You would help K to truly see that her body is Your dwelling place.  Enable her to be disciplined in the care of her body, and teach her to make right choices in what she eats.  Give her the motivation to exercise regularly so that she has endurance.  Help her to get plenty of restore so that she is completely rejuvenated when she awakens.  May she acknowledge You in all her ways – including the care of her body – so that You can direct her paths.

Let no weapon formed against my wife be able to prosper (Isaiah 54:17).  Keep her at all times under the umbrella of Your protection, and deliver her from the enemy’s hand so no evil comes near her.  Give Your angels charge over her to keep her in all her ways (Psalm 91:11).  I say to my wife that God will “cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge:  His truth shall be your shield and buckler.  You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.  A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you” (Psalm 91:4-7)

Thank you Lord, that this day You will cover K and help her to lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone O, Lord, make her to dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8).

Prayer for My Wife

Lord, I am so grateful that You have made K to be a woman of deep thoughts and feelings.  I know that You have intended this for good, but I also know that the enemy of her soul will try to use it for evil.  Help me to discern when he is doing that and enable me to pray accordingly.

Thank You that You have given K a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7).  Protect her from the author of lies and help her to cast down “every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”(2 Corinthians 10:5).  Give her discernment about what she receives into her mind.

I pray she will quickly identify lies about herself, her life, or her future.  Help her to recognize when there is a battle going on in her mind and to be aware of the enemy’s tactics.  Remind her to stick to Your battle plan and rely on the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word (Eph 6:17).  May she turn to You rather than give place to negative, upsetting, evil, or disturbing thoughts.

Keep me aware of when my wife is struggling so I can talk openly with her about what is on her mind and in her heart.   Enable us to communicate clearly so that we don’t allow the enemy to enter in with confusion or misinterpretation.  Help me not to react inappropriately or withdraw from my wife emotionally when I don’t understand her.  Give me patience and sensitivity, and may prayer be my first reaction to her emotions and not a last resort.

Although, I’m aware that I cannot meet my wife’s every emotional need, I know that You can. I am not trying to absolve myself from meeting any of her needs, but I know that some of them are intended to be met only by You.  I pray that when certain negative emotions threaten her happiness, You will be the first one she runs to, because only You can deliver her from them.  Help her to hide herself in “the secret Place of Your presence”(Psalm 31:20).

Lord, I pray that You would restore her soul (Psalm23:3), heal her broken-heartedness, and bind up her wounds (Psalm 147:3).  Make her to be secure in Your love and mine.  Take away all fear, doubt, and discouragement, and give her clarity, joy and peace.

I ask all these things in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
